Today was my first Father's Day and while Hatcher is too young to realize what that means I took the time to think about it for myself. In a time where I can barely remember to pick up a card and get it in the mail (this year I only accomplished half the task) I tried to think about it as something more than just a Hallmark card. So what did I come up with?
There are so many profound things to say here like how a father passes on knowledge, guidance, and friendship. But what it came back to for me was the ability to pass on something you can never forget and "always remember there is nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name". While my legacy is short it carries on in Hatcher and hopefully one day he'll realize how important it is to be a father.
